Tinker and Taste is devoted to the culinary and creative pursuits of Emily and Kyle.
Together we make, build, cook and conspire. The results are typically good. And really, no matter what the results are, we are happy because we’ve made something, together.
This blog will be two parts: first part, taste. Let’s face it, boring food sucks. We are on a constant journey of creating (& devouring) foods that are full of flavor, out of the norm or a challenge to us. And of course, some of those comforting staples, with our own twists. We like REAL food, sometimes it is healthy and sometimes, it’s just plain good. We will share our recipes and photo documentation of our food related adventures.
To tinker is an old term referring to one that fixes, mends or repairs things around the house. Since we are hard-working, but not highly paid, creating things for our home or fixing hand me downs is part necessity. We also pursue creative projects such as making gifts for friends and family and creating decor for our home with our own hands because it means more and brings us joy . Our projects range from sewing and woodworking to gardening and blacksmithing. There will probably be little “how-to’s” in this category, but hopefully our pursuits will give you a bit of inspiration and a reminder that you don’t need the fanciest tools to create something amazing.
Hello Kyle and Emily! Katherine Gilbert here, and I’m so delighted Lori put up your recent post so I could find your blog! This is so well done. Both of you should be so proud of what you’ve accomplished and I will look forward to reading about your culinary adventures as well as your amazing acquisitions for home décor! Love and blessings to you both!
